※ Belt mistracking (wandering) can stem from various causes, requiring different handling methods depending on the specific issue.

First: Adjust the carrying idler sets.

Second: Install self-aligning idler sets.

Third: Adjust the tensioning mechanism. Adjusting the belt tensioning point is a crucial step in correcting belt mistracking.

Fourth: Adjust the positions of the drive pulley and bend pulley. Adjusting these pulleys is a key part of correcting belt mistracking.

Fifth: Adjust mistracking for reversible (bi-directional) belt conveyors.

※ Methods for Handling Belt Slippage

First: Slippage in conveyors with screw or hydraulic tensioning. For conveyors using these systems, slippage can be addressed by adjusting the tensioning travel to increase tension. However, if the tensioning travel is insufficient or the belt has undergone permanent deformation, a section of the belt can be cut out and re-vulcanized.

Second: Conveyors using nylon or EP belts require a longer tensioning travel. If the travel is insufficient, the issue can be resolved by re-vulcanizing the belt or increasing the tensioning travel.

Third: Slippage in conveyors with gravity (counterweight) tensioning. For conveyors using gravity tensioning devices, slippage can be resolved by adding counterweights until the belt stops slipping. However, excessive weight should not be added, as this subjects the belt to unnecessary, excessive tension and reduces its service life.
